If FedEx tracking is correct, my game will be here tomorrow. That’s faster than the 5-7 days shipping option that I chose, which has me very happy.! I’ll hopefully have an opportunity to connect the system to my computer and read the instructions, and maybe (with some cooperation from my husband and kids) get a chance to play a little. In the meantime, I thought I’d share a little about biofeedback, what biofeedback is and how it can be used.

What Is Biofeedback?

Biofeedback is process which involves electronically measuring a person’s bodily processes (such as blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature, and muscle tension) and conveying such information to him or her in real-time (through the use of beeps, graphs or on a computer screen) in order to raise his or her awareness and conscious control of the related physiological activities. Through the use of biofeedback therapy, an individual learns to consciously control involuntary responses such as

  • heart rate
  • brain waves
  • blood pressure
  • muscle tension

And even if you don’t have a specific disease or condition, biofeedback can help optimize your overall health and sense of well-being. Some even say that it can be used to help you channel your talents and energies toward realizing your full potential!

Why I am so excited about using biofeedback at home

I get headaches; all sorts of headaches. I get migraines several times a month, sinus headaches more often, and I’ve been getting tension headaches more often these days. I am a stay-at-home mom and I’ homeschooling my children; I don’t have the time (or patience) to deal with a headache. I also prefer to use a more natural approach to health care, but the herbs and essential oils have not been able to help me reduce the incidences of or get rid of my headaches once one has started (although I highly recommend a warm rice pack for a migraine :) ). And if I were to take medicine every time I got a headache, I’d be taking a heck of a lot of medicine! With biofeedback you may be able to rely less on medication and more on the power of your mind. I whole-heartedly believe in the power of our minds and am extremely excited to learn how to use it to better my health.

I’m off to check today’s FedEx update and see where my game is! If you’ve used biofeedback of any sort, I’d love to hear about your experience!

I am SO excited! I ordered my Journey to Wild Divine game today; I’ve been wanting it since it became available!! And I’m really excited now, because I got the Taming March Madness bundle pack that the company has available until the end of March.

With the bundle pack, I get:

Taming March Madness Special

  • The Passage (normally $159.99) - the first in the Journey. This links biofeedback hardware with your computer and has software that will help you learn meditation and breathing techniques to reduce stress and improve relaxation, and help you create a renewed sense of balance and well-being. Who couldn’t use that? ;)
  • Wisdom Quest (normally $59.99) - features Deepak Chopra and Dean Ornish as guides. You’ll practice what you already know and learn new breathing and meditation techniques to use as you begin to incorporate this wisdom into your daily life. This software runs on the same hardware you normally get with The Passage.
  • The Journey to Wild Divine Soundtrack (normally $14.95) - The music that is featured in The Passage. The music was composed and performed by artists who are masters of the different musical styles that were necessary to create the atmosphere of this land. I think that this could be useful for automatically inducing a relaxed state after you’ve been playing the game and practicing the techniques for a while. A great bonus!!

For just the hardware and two games I’m saving $20.00, so with the soundtrack thrown into the package, it’s a total savings of about $35.00.

If you’re interested but don’t really want all the pieces in the March Madness special, if you click on the banner below you can get free shipping on The Passage (remember, it has the hardware you need to play the game).

So now I just have to wait until it arrives. I just KNOW I’m going to have to fight my 7-year old for playing time! :D
